Some FAQs with Anahata Sabat, a co-host of the ZERO ON ZERO Program

Sober Curious Coach and Mentor, Anahata is the owner of Plant Magic Bottle Shop in DC, the first clean bottle shop in DC. She grew her following with High Vibe Women, spiritual wellness community for the sober curious, providing an alcohol-free social club.

What does “Sober-Curious” mean?

Sober Curious is a term being used more frequently in the bar scene. More and more patrons are visiting bars and trying mocktails and non-alcoholic beverages. They are curious about leading a sober lifestyle or drinking less. As the dabble with these zeroproof beverages, they learn more and more what a sober-lifestyle looks like. The movement for mindful drinking refers to drinking less and being conscious about alcohol intake.

What are the trends that are driving the movement for non-alcoholic spaces?

Some of the major trends in the non-alc space is around wellness. Gen Z is leading the movement towards consciousness. More and more people are becoming label readers and looking at where there food is sourced and what the ingredients are. As a result, there is a growing recognition that you can go out and feel good.

What is the Plant Magic Bottle Shop?

The Plant Magic Bottle Shop is a bar cart in DC’s Union Market that features creatively crafted functional mocktails and hot drinks that refresh, revitalize and uplift. We offer ceremonial-grade cacao and matcha, alongside wellness drinks infused with ashwagandha, lion’s mane and CBD. These non-alcoholic beverages are designed to make you feel good—without the hangover. The best part, once patrons discover their favorite drinks, you can take the functional tinctures and products home with you.

Why is this the moment to launch ZERO ON ZERO in Charlottesville?

As the zeroproof movement continues to grow, more and more constituents are asking for non-alcoholic options, and this doesn't mean that bars and restaurants should make less! Well crafted mocktails that utilize healthy ingredients can command a premium, and expand accessibility for people that don't drink alcohol.
